After the
software is installed, it creates a folder called FileMaker Pro Server
that is either installed at the root level of your hard drive or in the
Applications
folder. At this point do the following:
- It is assumed that your network has been properly setup
using
the TCP/IP network protocol. Each machine must be assigned it own IP
address.
For consistancy sake, the server's IP address should be 192.168.100.100
and each subsequent computer on the network has a different IP address.
- Move
the PracticeMaker® files into the FileMaker Pro Server
folder.
- Install a copy of the FileMaker
Pro
5.5 application on the server, too. This is required for technical
support reasons, even though you will not use the server as a
workstation.
